Region Projects
- B-Happy!
- The project will relocate a poorly accessible, underused, land locked play area that the applicant states suffers nuisance behaviour and misuse. The new location for the play area already has a football pitch and youth shelter and so this project will enhance this existing area. A local school, community groups and residents will plant trees, shrubs and wildflowers. Young people will also be involved in the design of the artwork that will be incorporated on the youth shelter. A community open day will launch the new facility, coaches will be organised to provide demonstrations and taster sessions for all. The project will benefit 600 people.
- Living for Learning
- The project will create an outdoor learning provision with an outdoor seating area and a canopy for shelter. Outdoor play equipment will also be installed and open spaces created providing areas for creative play, respite and innovative learning for the school, children with special needs, voluntary and community sector and parents and carers.
- Lister Community Adventure Playground
- The project will provide the three local primary schools and the local community with a play area. The provision of the playground will promote a healthier and more active lifestyle for local children while providing a safe and stimulating environment for young people to mix with their peers and develop key life and social skills. The playground will also be utilised during organised activities that will encourage participation from the various cultural and BME groups that make up the local community. We really need your help so please don't forget to come back here on November 26th to get the phone number and vote for us. In the mean time why not have a look at our photos by clicking on the photo gallery in the menu on the left. The gallery also has a plan to show just where the money will be used.
- Freddie's Snoozle
- The project involves the development of a white sensory room for use by people from age ranges 2-19 with profound and moderate special needs. The applicant states this will provide a calm, safe environment in which to relax and escape from pain and discomfort. The white room will have colourful furniture which helps people with visual impairments and the installation of furniture such as the vibro-acoustic seat helps low base frequencies that resonate through the user's body. The applicant states that the room will provide a powerful sensory experience for people with special needs.
