Region Projects

Bryher Community Centre
The project will fit out the island of Bryher's newly built community centre to provide recreational facilities for the whole community. The facility will be used for activities such as social events, meetings, indoor games, training courses, doctor's consultations and the applicant states that this will be the only community venue on the island. The project will benefit 500 people.
Starting Out
This project will involve three Cornish furniture reuse centres combining efforts to reduce the amount of waste going into landfills, through an innovative initiative that will also benefit homeless individuals, by helping them move into permanent accommodation. Through the assistance of volunteers, they will service, test, clean and repair old furniture and appliances so that they can be delivered to low income or recently homeless individuals to assist them in restarting or rebuilding their livelihoods. The volunteers will also be the recipients of the items, so that people will effectively earn furnishings and equipment through spending time helping out on the project. Between 300 and 450 people (150 families) should benefit.
David Hall Refurbishment
The project will involve essential repairs and improvements to the David Hall, a community facility and local arts venue. The works will ensure that the building complies with current safety standards. There will be 9,000 beneficiaries.
Camborne Town Band Bandroom
The project will renovate and refurbish the group's wooden band room including the installation of toilets and disabled access. The facility is 80 years old and in need of repair. The project will benefit 1,000 people.
