WestCountry Projects
ITV Westcountry transmits to people living in towns and villages throughout Devon, Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, and parts of Dorset and Somerset.
Over the past five years of the People’s Millions competition some great projects have won funding in our region, including community gardens, a skate park, a community transport project and many more besides.

Region Projects
- Preston Primary School Pool Project
- The project will renovate the existing swimming pool to allow school children, including an autistic unit, the opportunity to swim. It will also be used by a variety of community groups, including lifeguard training, beavers and cubs, parent and toddler groups and church groups.
- Combe Martin Seaside Enhancement Project
- The project will rejuvenate the heart of the village of Combe Martin by making the environment more attractive, reduce vandalism and increase the safety of car park users and walkers. It will encourage green tourism, help to sustain the village economy, encourage healthy leisure activities and an appreciation of the beach and its beautiful surroundings.
- The Children's Garden
- TICK BOX PILOT PROJECT. The project is to create a secure children?s garden to enrich the children?s experiences.
- Boat Building Project 'The Big Splash'
- TICK BOX PILOT PROJECT. The project is to fit out a motor boat for use by all local people including disabled persons. Volunteers and the youngsters from the local community will help to construct the project.
- Tomperrow Truro District Scout Camp Site Kitchen and Building Improvements
- The project will update and improve facilities at the local district camp site, opened in 1993, in order to make it accessible for people with disabilities, and to make it more appealing to a wider community including other youth groups. The project will also help make the site more marketable to other organisations who may wish to hire the site, and extend it's use. The site offers camping, showers, a large meeting hall, and an activity trail in a wooded, safe environment. The site is leased on a 20 year renewable lease at a peppercorn rent.
- P.L.A.Y Crantock
- The project will create three play areas targeted at specific age groups adjacent to the village playing field in order to provide local children with play facilities.
- Multi-Sensory Music Facility
- The project will create a multi-sensory room for sensory and motor challenged young people. It will complement the existing therapies offered by this organisation through music workshops.
