Region Projects
- Learning To Grow
- The project will replace an existing dilapidated play park, create a community garden and a back drop wall mural, which will reflect the ethnic diversity of the area of benefit. The land is owned by Belfast City Council with whom the organisation already has a renewable lease agreement in place. There is therefore, no risk in terms of lease arrangements. The project will be of particular benefit to children and young people and also single parents, young ex-offenders and minority ethnic communities. The aim is to encourage longer term involvement by children and young people in 'grass roots' community development, foster greater appreciation of community life, the environment and other cultures and communities, and participation in positive community activities.
- Benbradagh Work Crew
- The project will fund a work crew comprised of adults with learning disabilities who will provide a garden/grounds maintenance service to the local community, focussing on older people, local churches and community groups. The service will include a scheme for recycling waste garden materials.
- Community Garden & Regeneration Project
- The project will transform waste ground at the rear of five derelict shop units into a play park and community garden.
