The project will extend the social day centre Dales Care currently run. This will enable more older people to attend throughout the day. Having the extra space will allow more people from the community to utilise the facilities available at the centre and will also allow a better range of activities and lunch services to take place.
Dales-Care is a small independent Charity which runs the only social day centre for older people in a 20 mile radius of Bedale and covers not only the County Town of Northallerton, but also the outlying villages.
Because we are situated in a conservation area our opportunities are very limited for expansion and the “two metre project”, a two metre metre expansion outward of the Centre, will allow room for an additional 30 places.
As local authorities restrict finance for day centres elsewhere, Dales-Care continues to provide a service for independent older people who, but for the Centre, would sit in isolation and loneliness at home.
Dales-Care is proud to have offered facilities to older people for over twenty years and will continue to do so. We provide relief from loneliness, activities and lunch 5 days a week.
Older people matter to Dales-Care and we hope they matter enough to you to vote for us.
