The Blyth Star Gardening project has been established for a number of years and now NEEDS TO GROW. We provide work opportunities, training and realistic social care for people with mental health difficulties.
The gardening team provides an excellent service for people in Blyth Valley who find it difficult to maintain their own environment and we are now having to turn work away as the gardening team is too small. We also need a new van and new equipment.
If we win The Peoples Millions, we can increase the service, thus providing more opportunities for mental health service users and assisting more elderly and infirm people who need their gardens maintained.
THIS PROJECT WILL:
- Help people with Mental Health difficulties
- Help older people and disabled people to maintain their gardens and to maintain their independence
- Improve the local environment
- Reduce isolation and loneliness by improving social links for both service users and customers
MENTAL HEALTH is always the poor relation when it comes to funding. Its’ INVISIBLE PAIN is often misunderstood and unsupported. Yet if you consider your own family and friends you will know someone who has needed mental health help.
PLEASE HELP US BY VOTING FOR US .......Many thanks
