STV (Central) Projects
STV Central region goes from Perth, through Edinburgh, down to Biggar on the east and from Fort William on the west coast, through Glasgow and down to South Ayrshire.
Over the past five years of the People’s Millions competition we have seen some great projects in the region. Previous winners have included projects to transform a special school playground, create an all-weather games facility, materials for a Heritage site and many more.

Region Projects
- Community Playpark
- The project aims to create a fully accessible community playpark and picnic site in a rurally isolated area to encourage all ages in the community to socialise and interact.
- All weather sport's pitch and pre 5 timber trail project
- This project will create an area suitable for ball games in all types of weather and an active play area for under fives. This will be the first all weather games facility on Islay.
- Gartconner and St Agathas Active Schools Partnership - 'Pitching In'
- The project will convert an existing ash football pitch into a multi purpose games surface. This will enable more frequent pupil participation in a wider variety of sports and activities. Shared classes between the neighbouring denominational and non denominational schools will also help to further promote integration within the surrounding community.
- Multi Sports Facility
- The Kersland School project will give young people with severe learning difficulties the opportunity to participate in a range of physical activities and develop their sporting abilities by installing a Multi Use Games Area in the school grounds and upgrading of the existing adventure playground. The project will primarily benefit the 70 pupils attending the school in Paisley, but the staff also hope to link with other special schools in the area to arrange social sports events in order to broaden the young people's social opportunities.
- Milton Get Up and Go
- This project has two aims: to provide a fenced in multi-use games area and a play area within the school grounds. The facility will also be available to other groups outside school hours as the community has no such area or equipment at present. The aim is to provide improved play and sporting opportunities, and through this to improve children's health and fitness.
- Scents and Sensitivities
- The project aims to improve the natural environment and accessibility around the Auchinstarry Basin of the Forth and Clyde Canal. Landscaping improvements will include a sensory garden, a commissioned art form and short nature trail with interpretation signs.
