Dark Sky Observatory

The Dark Sky Observatory project will provide a mobile planetarium which will open up the wonders of the night sky to a wider ranging audience. The planetarium will used in conjunction with the soon to be built Scottish Dark Sky Observatory, located adjacent to the Gallway Forest Dark Sky Park and transported to community locations and schools.

Scotland has by far the darkest skies. Let's keep it that way and educate the kids to love and preserve it. Galloway has one of the few official dark skies in Europe ! Good luck.

A very worthwhile project, Craigengillan is an amazing sight. The local community and youth organisations will really benefit from this worthwhile project. Good luck and everyone keep voting :)))

This is a worthwhile project as the addition of a portable planetarium to the Scottish Dark Sky Observatory will greatly increase the educational outreach work for schools and other organisations.

This will be used by thousands of visitors every year, and packed in the back of a car so it can be seen by thousands of school kids across Scotland every year as well.

Registering and supporting us on this website does not count as voting. The voting phone number will be advertised here and in the Daily Mirror on the day. A short video about this project and the competing project will also be shown on the ITV regional news between 6.00pm and 6.30pm.
