The Jubilee Gardens Tree Cozy Project

The project seeks to connect over 2000 people of all ages and backgrounds in the making of a vibrant piece of public art within Jubilee Gardens, Crewe. Older people will work with all ages of the community to deliver workshops in schools, community centres, residential older people’s homes, ethnic minority groups, and people with learning and physical disabilities, to create knitted tree sleeves, lamppost banners, and tree plaques.

The legacy of the project for future generations to enjoy will be a wrought iron archway, and railings, and the production of an animated film that will educate a younger audience about our environmental responsibilities. A grand Mad Hatters Tea Party will showcase the project and celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in style. The project aims to reach over 8000 local people.

This project is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together to have fun, learn new skills, meet and get to know people across the generations and leave a lovely artistic legacy for the town.

Registering and supporting us on this website does not count as voting. The voting phone number will be advertised here and in the Daily Mirror on the day. A short video about this project and the competing project will also be shown on the ITV regional news between 6.00pm and 6.30pm.
