The project will celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by hosting a festival of light with lantern parades, a garden of light and firework display. Volunteers will be going into local schools, local community groups as well as holding lots of lantern making workshops where anyone can make a lantern and join in the parades. A real family fun event that brings families as well as communities together. When you see the pride on the childrens faces whilst walking in parade with the unique lantern that they have made you realise that it is all worth it

This year I help out with the lantern parade in Brinnington it was great to see how many took part in the parade round the streets of Brinnington. It was a great night. Lets all support the bid for Stockports festival of light.
