The project will expand the facilities and activities of Southlands Amateur Boxing Club. The entrant has stated that they offer amateur boxing and fitness sessions to the young people in the local area. The project will increase the scope of the club by training the club coaches to Amateur Boxing Association of England standard (ABAE) and purchase a minibus to take youngsters to competitions across the UK. It is envisaged that this project will benefit the many young people of the area improve their fitness and self-defence skills.

SOUTHLANDS AMATEUR BOXING CLUB

An organisation that offers to teach youngsters of both genders,the basic skills of
boxing and helping to better their lives by keeping fit and healthy. The sole purpose of this page,is to generate public interest in our club,hoping we can count on your vote…The story goes like this: Some 6 months ago,i applied for some funding from the PEOPLES MILLIONS,which is run by the BIG LOTTERY FUND,in a hope i could raise some money for the club,to enable it to move forward and be successful in what the organization was set up to do. After a little while,i was made aware that the application had gone through to the 2nd stage with some surprise.We was told that someone from the club had to attend a media training course in London,just incase we made it through to the final stages,which would mean tv appearances,interviews etc..This was done and we had to just sit and wait for the PEOPLES MILLIONS TEAM to decide what projects were to go to the final stage… The decision day was just two days ago and i am so happy to announce that after all the many hours and hard work of working out finances,outgoings,incomings,
estimates and constitutions..WE HAVE MADE IT TO THE FINAL.!!! Now, this is where you MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC come into it big time,as this is the most important stage obviously…as we need as many votes as possible to complete this dream of a lifetime….£22,000. If we win this,the club intends to buy a minibus,which will enable us to take the youngsters all over the country to compete in competitions that are held regulary by most regions all over the uk… getting two of the coaches trained up to ABAE standard and of course maintain the club by getting new equipment etc.

On Monday 22nd NOVEMBER between 6pm and 6.30pm, ITV`S MERIDIAN NEWS will start runing the final stages on each day of the week.The day of our project is on the WEDNESDAY 24TH NOVEMBER….A short clip of the boxing club in motion will be shown on this date and another project were up against will be shown and depending on how many telephone votes are received for each project of which the highest wins the funding of their cause…! So please can i ask for your vote on this day,it would mean so much to the members of the club and to the community of PEBSHAM,which is currently backed by ROTHER DISTRICT COUNCIL and the BEXHILL POLICE FORCE….
